EXPERIENCE
Kiera has produced illustration, animation & graphic design for traditional & on-line learning resources and has worked commercially providing editorial illustrations, website design, posters & logos for nearly 20 years. 
She has presented animation workshops for JOINING THE CHORUS, a statewide festival run by the EDUCATION DEPARTMENT; exhibited at the NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA as a part of NEW Q, Melbourne's annual Midsumma Festival and has run workshops and lectured in animation, storyboarding & motion graphics software at the AUSTRALIAN FILM, TELEVISION AND RADIO SCHOOL and THE MELBOURNE SCHOOL OF ART.

AWARDS
* Kiera provided the art direction, animation, graphical interface design & packaging design for MABO - THE NATIVE TITLE REVOLUTION, a CD-ROM funded under the National Interest Program by FILM AUSTRALIA. This title was: *Winner of the 2001 ATOM, FILM, TV & MULTIMEDIA AWARD for best overall multimedia title.
* Nominated in the Factual Category of the The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 2001 Interactive Entertainment Awards.
* Purchased by the National Museum of Australia as part of a permanent exhibition within the Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Module in the Gallery of the First Australians.

Kiera's art direction, graphics & animation for the 1999 BIG DAY OUT website was Winner of an ONYA award for best music event site on-line.

Kiera's art direction, graphics and animation for CHILDCARE AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE was Winner of the 1997 Victorian Training Award.

Kiera worked on REAL GORGEOUS an interactive version of Kaz Cooke's book which was Winner of the Jury Prize for the Best Interactive at New York Short Film Festival & Nominated for Emma Award at LA International Festival.

Kiera won the HERALD & WEEKLY TIMES award for Best Student in Graphic Illustration in 1986 & the ANIMAGRAPHICS award of excellence for Best Student Animation in 1994.

Illustration & graphical interface design for “THE LIFE, TIMES AND TRAVELS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY VICE-ADMIRAL WILLIAM BLIGH”, a groundbreaking interactive online graphic novel that covers the life story of a man who is a pivotal figure in Australian and British history. Boasting a unique visual interface that combines a dynamic graphic style with the detailed narrative of a novel, BLIGH features a strong active narrative based entirely on factual accounts sourced from diaries, logs and books and reports, largely from Bligh’s own hand.

“THE LIFE, TIMES AND TRAVELS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY VICE-ADMIRAL WILLIAM BLIGH” was produced and developed by Film Art Doco in association with the Australian Film Commission and produced with the assistance of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Written and directed by Daryl Dellora and produced by AFI award winning producer Sue Maslin with Rob Wellington (Multimedia Producer and Director), Joanne Wellington (Co-Producer) and illustrations and artwork by Kiera Poelsma.
